Discover Barcelona’s only vineyard and the social project behind it
Barcelona’s only vineyard lies at Can Calopa, a traditional Catalan farmhouse in the heart of the Collserola hills. Our hosts are L’Olivera, a cooperative that makes wine and gives work to people in vulnerable situations.
We walk through the vineyard, the farmhouse and the winery to see how the vines are grown and how the wine is made. Along the way, we hear the story of a project that brings farming and social inclusion together.
Then we taste three of their wines and take time to discover the character of each one.
To finish, we make our own breakfast: pa amb tomàquet (bread rubbed with tomato and drizzled with L’Olivera olive oil), cured meats, cheeses and organic jam.

HOW THE VISIT UNFOLDS
We explore the vineyard
We meet at the agreed meeting point and travel together to the Can Calopa farmhouse. There, the L'Olivera team welcomes us. We explore the terraces with them, surrounded by pine and holm oak trees. Along the way, they tell us about the cooperative's history and how the vineyard creates employment opportunities for people facing social vulnerability.
We visit the winery and taste their wines
The winery is located on the lower level of the farmhouse and still houses a large traditional wine press. We learn about the winemaking process before tasting three of their wines and discovering what makes each one unique.
We enjoy breakfast at the farmhouse
We sit down at the farmhouse dining table, where everyone prepares their own pa amb tomàquet using the cooperative's olive oil. A selection of cured meats, cheeses and organic jam is served in the centre of the table to complete the breakfast.
Where your money goes
When you book this experience, most of what you pay goes directly to L'Olivera, a cooperative project that puts people at its heart. At Can Calopa, the vineyard, winery and wine tourism visits are also workplaces for people with intellectual disabilities, where employment is part of a wider project focused on inclusion and personal independence.
L'Olivera also supports the employment integration of people at risk of social exclusion. Through its work-integration company, it provides paid employment, training and ongoing support to help people access the job market.
The project also includes a residential facility and supported housing, giving people the opportunity to build their lives with greater independence.
Your booking helps sustain this project, where making wine and welcoming visitors to the farmhouse also means creating opportunities for people.
